Graduate from an accredited Technical School of HVAC and four (4) years of related experience required. Work experience may substitute for education requirement.
Licenses/Certifications/Registrations: Currently certified with a Section 608 Technician Type I, II, or III Certification from the United States Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) required.
MVR: Driving record should meet University underwriting guidelines to drive vehicle in performance of University business. Current underwriting guidelines include possession a valid driver's license, issued in the United States; at least 21 years of age; at least three years of driving experience; maintain an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Strong ability to troubleshoot, maintain, and repair HVAC/R systems and associated controls.
- Experience reading and interpreting technical documents such as blueprints and maintenance manuals.
- Team-oriented mindset with the ability to collaborate across multiple disciplines.
- Commitment to providing excellent service and responding to maintenance needs promptly.
- Ability to work an on-call work schedule, if needed.
- Mechanic skills
- Troubleshooting skills
- Ability to operate handheld equipment for work orders
- Required to possess the necessary physical requirements, with or without the aid of mechanical devices, to safely perform the duties and responsibilities that require performing tasks requiring wearing respirator and other personal protective equipment, such as self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA), to include:
o Lifting and carrying a minimum of fifty (50) pounds.
o Climbing stairs, ladders and scaffolding, and working at heights above thirty (30) feet.
o Performing tasks requiring bending, stooping, kneeling, and walking significant distance between and within buildings on campus.
o Working in confined spaces.
o Working within extreme temperature ranges.
