The City of Boise is hiring for Industrial Mechanics at our Water Renewal Facility!
Join a skilled maintenance team supporting the City’s advanced water renewal (wastewater treatment) and public works operations. This hands-on role focuses on mechanical maintenance, repair, installation, and troubleshooting of industrial equipment including pumps, motors, valves, piping, and process systems. Daily work includes welding and fabrication, rebuilding equipment, operating shop tools and heavy equipment, and keeping critical systems running safely and reliably.
This position is ideal for someone with mechanical or industrial maintenance experience who enjoys working with tools, problem-solving, and learning new equipment. You’ll receive ongoing training, build valuable trade skills, and work toward wastewater operator certification in a stable, year-round role.

Required Knowledge, Experience, And Training High school diploma or equivalent and two years of experience troubleshooting, repairing, rebuilding, installing, fitting pipe, plumbing and fabricating in a maintenance or industrial setting, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
Licensing And Other Requirements
Valid state-issued driver’s license.
Ability to obtain a Wastewater Treatment Operator Class I certificate or Operator in Training (OIT) within six months of employment.
Special Requirements Applicants must be able to pass:
City of Boise background check processes which includes a criminal history check and reference checks in accordance with the City of Boise Hiring Process Regulation
