The Bayou and Bardmoor Golf Clubs are 2 of the most outstanding properties in the area. Being a part of the Agronomy team is very important piece of the success of both clubs. As the irrigation technician you are a key player in that success. The knowledge and focus needed must be to the highest standards. Our goal is to have the best conditions and to raise the bar daily. This position is not limited to irrigation alone, in the event other needs arise and/or are assigned by the Superintendent or member of management. As a key member of the team you must lead by example as well as mentor and motivate team members. Always be mindful of member and guest and be professional at all times.
Key Responsibilities :
Make certain Irrigation systems, pump station, wells and work areas are operating correctly and safely.
Report all issues or concerns immediately to the Asst. and/or Head Superintendent
Must have knowledge of how to diagnose and repair irrigation performance issues to include but not limited to: valve boxes and components , wiring, Hydraulics, Pipes, Trash Pumps, line breaks , head adjustments and corrections, correct nozzle selection, moisture readings ,etc
Maintain pristine record keeping daily, monthly and annually for usages both incoming and outgoing as well as rainfall totals
Knowledge of OSMAC hand-held radio command codes knowledge of how to read and understand blueprints and as-builts
The candidate chosen for this position must be self motivated and driven to give only the best to the properties on a daily basis.
Must be dependable and on time with a strong work ethic
Must possess a valid driver's license and have dependable transportation
High school education with the ability to read, write and communicate in English with Spanish being a plus (but not required)
Strong Leadership with willingness to learn and mentor
Must know Toro golf course operating systems with both Hydraulic and Electric controls and how to troubleshoot, diagnose and resolve problems in a timely manor
Work weekends and holidays as required

Working Conditions:
When working in the golf course industry we run into every weather condition possible (other than snow in this area). On any given day you may be required to walk, stand, lift and/or move objects up to 100 lbs, hold you balance, stoop, twist, kneel, climb slopes or ladders, use your vision, and any other movement the human body can perform. Possible exposure to loud noises, chemicals, pesticides, gas and diesel , electrical, environmental and mechanical hazards. Outside events can happen without notice and every precaution should be taken to protect yourself and the property without exception.
