Overview
Perform technical and administrative supervision and support for Cogeneration Plant Maintenance & Heating Specialists Shops. Manage and schedule the preventative maintenance, as well as repair of building HVAC equipment and auxiliary equipment in retro-commissioned buildings Set up monitoring and maintenance programs to ensure that all HVAC systems are operating within the commissioning parameters. Partner with Facilities Managers and the Technical Services Management team to integrate Heating Specialists into their staffs preventative maintenance programs. Provide retraining to building and HVAC Staff and update their preventative maintenance programs where necessary to ensure compliance.
Responsibilities
Required Education: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
Preferred Education: Bachelor's Degree in Science or Engineering Degree in Mechanical, Marine or Facilities Engineering. EIT or Licensed Professional Engineer..
Required Experience: 3+ years experience repairing and preventative maintenance of building mechanical systems, district heating and chilled water systems, BMAS/BAS systems, pneumatic and electric valve/damper controls; experience managing staff.
Preferred Experience: 5+ years experience building mechanical systems, district heating and chilled water systems. Knowledge of chemical water testing and treatment methods and procedures. Advanced knowledge of valve repairs and PMs. High Pressure heating experience (HTHW and/or steam systems operating above 50 psi). Air flow and Water Balancing. Auto-CAD. LICENSES: Certificate of Qualification for Refrigeration System Operator of the City of New York-E.P.A. CFC Technician Certification.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Demonstrated effective managerial skills. Able to direct staff to appropriate goals, objectives and outcomes. Is able to secure any management required NYC Licenses after required years of experience. Able to work effectively in a busy environment. Able to be effective in a power plant and MER environment. Knows and demonstrates knowledge of equipment and controls, operation and maintenance. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Experience in the operation, maintenance and repair of steam generators, heat exchangers, centralized air-conditioning, and auxiliary systems (pumps, motors, dampers, VFDs, electrical, pneumatics) in a supervisory role.
Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Stationary Engineer's License, SCADA, BMS, Water Treatment.
Qualifications
In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $108,000.00 to USD $128,000.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
