What Production Operation contributes to Cardinal Health
Manufacturing is responsible for cost of production and maintenance activities including process improvement, supply chain management, quality assurance, employee safety and engagement, and environmental commitment.
Production Operation operates light-duty bench- or floor-type machine tools and automation equipment. May set up machining machines and make adjustments, and perform maintenance on machines. Checks work using prescribed gauges, jigs and fixtures to measure close tolerances. Some machines may be numerically controlled. May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures.

Qualifications
Machinist Degree preferred or ability to obtain a 1-year Machinist Diploma or Certificate after hire
2-4 years of experience in manufacturing with plastic injection molding preferred
Ability to reach mechanical blueprints, work with a variety of tool designs (hot runners, valve gates and hydraulics)
Familiarity with FDA Quality Regulations; Microsoft Office and network-based computer skills
Ability to lift 50lbs
Responsibilities
Sets up and operates Tool Room equipment including CNC Mills, CNC Lathe, saw, manual mill and lathes.
Tool and die repair.
Manufacture parts and components to print specifications using manual and CNC machinery.
Clean, evaluate, maintain, repair, and convert injection molds.
Assist in maintaining the spare part inventories used for mold repair and maintenance.
Work with outside tool shops and vendors when necessary to schedule and track tool repairs and preventive maintenance.
Contribute suggestions to improve mold efficiency and reduce maintenance costs.
Complete projects to schedule as assigned by the Tool Room Lead / Supervisor.
Work safely and maintain molds and equipment to operate as designed.
Participate in continuous education / training to improve tooling knowledge and skills.
Interpret mechanical drawings and wiring schematics.
Maintain service records in compliance with FDA & ISO standards.
Determine root cause when addressing major tool damage / failure. Report findings to the Tool Room Lead.
Perform mold preventive maintenance as scheduled to achieve 100% on-time completion.
Respond to manufacturing demands appropriately. Request direction when priorities conflict.

Anticipated hourly range: $24.80 per hour - $41.06 per hour
