This position is responsible for performing all duties and assignments necessary to effectively monitor, operate, and control a variety of auxiliary equipment and systems.
Key Responsibilities
Record plant operating data and file reports or logs
Monitor equipment fluids and replace or add with the correct fluid
Perform inspections and perform routine maintenance of FGD and ELG related systems
Maintain records of test results
Lubricate gears, pump bearings, valves, etc.
Perform preventive maintenance on FGD and ELG related systems
Assist plant operators and maintenance mechanics in performing preventive or scheduled maintenance and major/minor repairs of all plant equipment which may require strenuous lifting, moving or use of tools or machines
Position electrical breakers as necessary to isolate or restore electrical systems
Open or close equipment and system valves
Replenish chemical supplies and refill storage tanks
Clean assigned equipment and maintain a clean work area
Change fuses, lamp indicators, and other protective devices
Perform mechanical and electrical equipment and system tests
Collect material samples for analysis
Collect samples throughout FGD WWT system; perform analytical tests on samples
Operate fire protection equipment
Follow all standard operating procedures
Perform Lock Out Tag Out
Perform all tasks safely
Ensure other employees are performing jobs safely
Stop work authority if job is not performed safely
Help with chemical deliveries
Ensure chemical deliveries are correct and verify paperwork
Ensure chemicals can fit in associated tanks
Line up and monitor filling of chemical tanks
Notify, help, and clean any spills of chemicals or process flows
Participate in all required training
Notify and utilize work orders

Ensure filter cake solids are disposed of
Monitor filtrate sump

Monitor/look for holes in filter press clothes
Maintain/clean filter press floor/building
Maintain/clean filter press plates
Inspect filter press plates for holes

Key Requirements
Education and Certifications / Licenses:
High school diploma or GED required. Additional mechanical, electrical, and/or chemistry related training preferred.
Experience:
One (1) year of mechanical, electrical, or chemical related work experience preferred.
Skills and Abilities:
Must be able to read and understand schematic diagrams and equipment manuals.
Must be able to read and interpret chemical and equipment manuals.
Chemistry background knowledge is highly desirable.
Attend forklift operator training and maintain license.

Must maintain a valid driver’s license and live within one and a half (1.5) hours of the plant.
Must be willing to work a variety of shift schedules based on the needs of the station. This includes but is not limited to a 12-hour rotating swing shift (primary), 4/10s, 5/8s, etc. Scheduled and non-scheduled overtime is a normal part of the job.
This is an on-call position; telephone is required.
Must pass an aptitude and physical ability test and follow procedures for wearing a respirator and other personal protective equipment.
Regular lifting up to 100 pounds and occasional lifting over 100 pounds. Regular climbing and work at heights on ladders and stairs required, as well as above ground grating and platforms.
Work conditions include noise, heat in excess of 100 degrees, gas emissions, chemical vapors, dust, high pressure lines and high voltage equipment.
