Job Title: Irrigation Technician Division: Antler Creek Golf Course Reports To: Golf Course Superintendent FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Summary: Responsible for irrigation operations on the property by performing the following duties. Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. 1. Maintains irrigation operations on the property for turf, trees, shrubs, plants, and bedding.* 2. Repairs and maintains all facets of the irrigation system on a daily basis.* 3. Installs and troubleshoots controllers, valves, heads, back flows, and drip systems.* 4. Identifies, diagnoses, and makes recommendations with regards to plant health.* 5. Removes dead plant material and installs new plant material.* 6. Supervises a small labor force for special projects occasionally.* 7. Completes requests for irrigation, course parts, and supplies.* 8. Grades and prepares soil base, lays sod, and seeds greens, teas, and fairways.* 9. Operates dump trucks and other light equipment in hauling materials and removing debris.* 10. Certificates and Licenses: Valid driver’s license Equipment: • Dump truck • Golf cart • Hand tools Knowledge, Skills and Other Abilities: • Knowledge of basic electricity and hydraulics related to an irrigation system including automatic valves and controllers • Knowledge of various types of pumps and pumping systems • Knowledge of agronomy, turf grass science, and rules of golf • Knowledge of tools, methods and materials used in grounds and landscape, and maintenance work • Ability to operate light motorized equipment • Ability to follow oral and written directions Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
