Job Description: Under general supervision from departmental supervisor serves as lead worker. Provides work direction, training and mentoring for lower-level positions including Automotive Service Workers, Assistant Automotive Mechanics, Automotive Mechanic 1, and Automotive Mechanic 2; oversees garage operation in manager's absence. Performs various operational functions relative to garage operations along with performing Mechanic 2 duties as needed. Performs preventive maintenance and service on cars, Low Speed Vehicles (LSV), Under Speed Vehicles (USV), buses, trucks, and equipment (e.g. tuneups, adjust ignitions, carburetors, brakes and valves, cleans carburetors and changes oil and filters.
