HMC Maintenance has an outstanding opportunity for a full time day shift CONTROL TECHNICIAN. Perform skilled work in the inspection, testing, servicing, installation, and maintenance of mechanical, pneumatic, electronic, electrical, and computer controls for heating, air-conditioning, and related equipment. Work requires skills in electronic, pneumatic and mechanical control systems, and the ability to work independently with little supervision.

A summary of the Control Technician responsibilities:

•     Work involves installation, modification, trouble diagnosis, testing, repair, calibration and operation of a variety of mechanical, pneumatic, electrical, and electronic equipment and apparatuses used in heating, ventilating, air-conditioning, and refrigeration systems;
•     Maintain positive and negative differential pressures within Operating rooms, Operating room core, Central Processing Utilities, Isolation rooms, ICU rooms, soiled utility rooms, clean utilities rooms, inpatient pharmacy, outpatient pharmacy, transfusion services, laboratories and all adjoining and adjacent spaces.
•     Maintain CDC recommended ACH within all Operating rooms, Operating room core, Central Processing Utilities, Isolation rooms, ICU rooms, soiled utility rooms, clean utilities rooms, inpatient pharmacy, outpatient pharmacy, transfusion services, laboratories and all adjoining and adjacent spaces.
•     Must be able to enter patient rooms to perform work.
•     Must have knowledge of PPE for entering isolation and contact precaution rooms.
•     Will understand balancing and measuring techniques for both air and water distribution systems
•     Understand and follow infection control risk assessments;
•     Install and service mechanical pneumatic electrical and electronic temperature and humidity controls for heating and ventilation systems throughout hospital as needed;
•     May troubleshoot and repair central supervisory control system components;
•     Maintain shop stock of temperature controls, valves, and related parts for repair and installation of electrical, mechanical, electronic and pneumatic control systems;
•     Use tools such as drill presses, grinders, band saws, hand drills, soldering guns, flow hoods, small hand tools and specialized apparatuses;
•     Perform related duties as required

Minimum Qualifications:

Completion of a four-year approved institution course as a Control Technician Trainee; OR four years of applicable experience in installation, repair, and maintenance of electrical and pneumatic control systems. Vocational or trade school training in control mechanisms may be substituted, year-for-year, for work experience up to a maximum of two years.
