Jefferson Community and Technical College, a part of the Kentucky Community and Technical College System (KCTCS), is accepting applications for an Instructor in the Industrial Maintenance Technology Advanced Manufacturing (KYFAME).
Responsibilities include planning and instructional activities. Prepares lesson plans, facilitates safe laboratory activities using instructional equipment and ability to improvise. Maintains records and reports on student learning. Communicates with business sponsors/partners as needed. Participate in professional development activities to improve teaching skills and expertise, student advising, follow-up services to assist in student placement, and recruitment of new students for program area. Position requires teaching 15-18 credit hours each semester. This is a fulltime teaching position that may require afternoon and evening hours or working at other campus locations as the need arises.
This position will start July 1, 2021.
Associate's Degree and/or equivalent with 4 years of related work experience in the field and/or appropriate apprenticeship. Experience in the following areas required, Hydraulic, pneumatics, AC/DC fundamentals, mechanical maintenance, electric motor controls, motor and transformer knowledge and installation, PLC programming with (RSLogix). Preferred experience in robotics programming (Fanuc).
The ideal candidate would provide instruction in all areas of Industrial Maintenance. Preference will be given to the candidate with ability to teach basic machine tooling and blueprint reading.
Demonstrated experience of installation, inspection, maintenance, and primary repair of mechanical equipment involved with operation and maintenance of equipment in a variety of manufacturing and industrial settings.
Demonstrated experience in electrical, and general maintenance of machinery.
Knowledge and ability to dismantle, repair, and reassemble machinery such as motors, pumps, valves, bearings, conveyer lines, conduct preventative maintenance audits and perform repair, set-up for all manufacturing equipment, and electrical systems.
Prior teaching experience is preferred.
