We are looking to expand our Vacuum Mart product management team with a Valve Product Specialist to support and accelerate the growth of our vacuum valve product line.
Working under the direction of the Business Segment Manager, in collaboration with the Product Manager, the Product Specialist will develop an expert knowledge of the assigned products, understand KJLC’s place in the market, and learn how our product offerings present solutions to customer needs. They will answer technical questions from the sales team and directly interact with both customers and suppliers. They will assist the Product Manager(s) in resolving quality concerns, work within the ERP system to generate technical quotations and maintain product data, develop marketing content, including website design and layout, and perform training of sales force on the assigned product group. Additionally, this person will help with development, testing, and launch of new products to expand the product offering.

A Product Specialist will be looked at as the subject matter expert for their product line by both internal and external customers. They must develop a complete understanding of all technical aspects of the product line, the principles of operation, specifications, the various applications for which the products are designed and used, and the products strengths and weaknesses relative to the competitor products.
Develop an in depth understanding of the applications in which the products are used. This technical expertise and application knowledge is critical in ensuring that the specialist offers the customer the best possible solutions.
Able to (1) answer technical questions and disseminate sales related application information to the KJLC sales force and agents; (2) work with vendors and/or KJLC Engineers to further develop applications and seek out new applications; (3) aid in selling products, either directly or indirectly with the sales force and customers.
Maintain a working knowledge of the market for their products, including sales strategies, strengths and weaknesses, features and benefits, understanding of competitors, etc.
Responsible for understanding supplier capabilities and will prepare cost estimates for non-standard items and standard price on request items, including providing any relevant sales information to customers and or Sales.
Responsible for training the sales force on the technical aspects of the product as well as the applications. The Product Specialist may be involved in closing orders when requested by the sales force or when the Product Manager deems necessary to achieve the sales objective.
Collaborate with the Product Manager and the Marketing team to develop new web content and assist in the maintenance of existing product webpages and launch of new products.
Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Business, Physics, or other technical field
Strong mechanical and/or electro-mechanical aptitude or background, including ability to read technical drawings
Proficient in Microsoft Suite, and familiarity with ERP systems (Dynamics 365)
Fluent in the English language with good communication skills
